An F-5 Tiger II fighter jet flown by the Patrouille Suisse team has crashed in the Netherlands. The #5 pilot reportedly ejected to safety following a mid-air collision. The other aircraft involved landed safely.
The Patrouille Suisse is a demonstration squadron of the Swiss Air Force and regularly performs at airshows across Europe. The team was preparing for the RNLAF Open Days airshow at Leeuwarden Air Base, north of Amsterdam.
Following incidents with the USAF Thunderbirds, US Navy Blue Angels, and Russian Knights, this is the fourth jet team crash in the last week. Two of them have been fatal.
