US Navy Blue Angels - F-18 Hornets

The US Navy Blue Angels have released the flyover routes and times for their visits to the Great Lakes region this week. The team will be launching from their home base at NAS Pensacola in Florida on Tuesday morning, then passing over hospitals and other landmarks in Detroit, Chicago, and Indianapolis before returning home.

Check out the flight path maps below and find a spot to watch! Remember to keep social distance from others and stay safe. Remember that times and routes are subject to change due to weather or other circumstances.

Fans in Michigan will also get a separate flyover from a KC-135 Stratotanker and A-10 Warthogs from the Michigan Air National Guard on Tuesday and Wednesday. Those aircraft will be taking off from Selfridge ANGB in Mt. Clemens and covering different parts of the state

These flyovers are part of Operation America Strong, an effort by the military to salute health care and essential workers across the country. Both the Blue Angels and the US Air Force Thunderbirds are performing flyovers of major cities. Additional destinations are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, but flyovers are only being confirmed about 48 hours in advance.
