Sun ‘n Fun 2020 has succumbed to the Coronavirus after all. The event was canceled today as actions to slow the spread of the virus continue to escalate.

The airshow was originally scheduled for this week, but was pushed back to early May as concerns about the pandemic rose. Now that the scope is even more clear, the Aerospace Center for Excellence (ACE) decided to cancel the show and dedicate resources to helping fight the outbreak.

In a video posted to social media, Sun ‘n Fun/ACE President and CEO John Leenhouts explains the decision and says the organization will open its facilities to to government to assist in responding to the virus. Information for current ticket holders is available on the Sun ‘n Fun website.

Sun ‘n Fun is just one of dozens of airshows to cancel in the face of government restrictions and widespread efforts to “flatten the curve”. You can find a full list of events, including those that have postponed or canceled, on our airshow calendar page. Sun ‘n Fun will return in 2021.
