I will share the comments with the committee. As for the bomber, Tri-State was supposed to bring "Yankee Doodle" but it had some issues so the C-45 was brought instead. As for "Berlin Express", they were there strictly for ride flights and they determined their schedule based on sales (pre-sale and on-site) and it just made more sense of them to fly before and after the show.kalamazookid wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 3:17 am
My only critiques would be to space out the trainer flights and bring in a bomber that will fly in the show. Trainer flights are fine and it's cool to see them highlighted, but an hour straight of only 1-2 trainers in the circuit at a time after the fighters and heavies flew was pretty dull. Spreading out those performances more would have been better for pacing. I know the B-25 was there for flight experiences, but it's kind of a waste if it's just going to sit on the ramp the whole afternoon. These are minor nitpicks and they didn't detract from the overall experience.
There is a process in place to see how this can still attempt to grow without costs getting out of hand. Next year should be a good one!
Great photos too! Thanks for sharing.
The issue we run in to with heavies is ramp space. The majority of the ramp will be reserved for the TBMs invited. That doesn't leave a lot of ramp space. We may be able to get an additional one or two (maybe three if we really squeeze). We've parked heavies in the grass before but then they remain as static because its in the crowd area. As for the B-25, see above. Modern jet fighter wise, it hasn't really been discussed and hosting a demo isn't likely in the realm of possibility in the near future. Maybe a static but it depends on what can be worked out. Something to explore. We did use pyro for the show last year and the focus was kind of switched to the Fireworks this year (which will more than likely continue). Doesn't mean that pyro won't be back but I'm sure it'll be a discussion point heading towards 2025.IDF783 wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 12:37 pm Third year going. Went on the Saturday. The sky jumpers were a nice touch to the show and Team Titan even with three ships did a great job. Would have been cool to see the B-25 takeoff and do some flybys. It wasn't until after the show it did some rides. I wonder if they can ever land a modern jet fighter there? Superhornet would be perfect. They need more "heavy" representation. The C-47 was cool, but not enough heavies. Pyro would be cool with those TBM flybys. The venue is great and it's all free which makes it better.
All-in-all, a really good event despite the hot weather. Actually had a record crowd for Friday Night.
