I guess they really don't plan to use the A-10 in the HF then? That's dumb.yyz64 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 5:22 pm Per the website

Given the info in the other thread about the GK using the Fokker, I'm hoping to sign up for a morning ride with them for one last double door adventure and not miss much on the ground

I was surprised as well the A-10 got left out of the heritage flight oh well.

While the forums were down (let's hope they stay up this time) the show posted that the A-10 will be in the HF after all.
It appears to be the new marketing fad of pretending to have urgent last minute updates when really that's been the plan all along.

For anyone curious, the TFR runs 245 to 430 today (surely Tbird circles and practice if they want one)
Tomorrow the TFR runs 10am to 1pm, and 145pm to 5pm. Not sure why they have the gap, but don't expect all of that time to be used.
On the show days it runs 10am to 6pm.

When I attended last year, Friday included a basic air show practice in the morning followed by a mid-day break before allowing the jet team to fly later on in the afternoon.RyanS wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 2:50 pm For anyone curious, the TFR runs 245 to 430 today (surely Tbird circles and practice if they want one)

Yeah that's pretty much par for the course there. I guess I never looked closely enough to realize there was actually a planned gap. I know when lunch time is nowlukecarrico wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 10:51 pmWhen I attended last year, Friday included a basic air show practice in the morning followed by a mid-day break before allowing the jet team to fly later on in the afternoon.RyanS wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 2:50 pm For anyone curious, the TFR runs 245 to 430 today (surely Tbird circles and practice if they want one)

First half of practice complete; the A10, Wiskus, Julie Clark, and C130 flew. The Tbirds did some odd circles amd arrivals with 1 and 6. 6 made comments on some sinus pain so hopefully she is feeling better. Not sure why 5 didn't join them.

Kind of a lame practice day in the end. F-35 team never flew; very disappointing. The Thunderbirds flew a five ship show at 2pm with one of the wing pilots missing which made for a strange performance. I guess that's why they were practicing with 6 in the stinger earlier today since 5 moved up to the inner wing.
The Skytypers also practiced, and I think that was it. The B-17 and B-25 came in, plus the NASA Twin Otter and a Chinook. More might have made it while we were at dinner. Bum Steer landed after the first practice but buttoned up for the rest of the day.
