Because, based on my prior encounters with air show/sporting/etc. security, I have no real desire to be kissed by any of them.

Re: 2024 World War II Weekend

Just had another gander at the website, and looks like a few more birds have dropped off the list. Down to just five aircraft selling rides (PT-19, P-51, Dauntless, B-25, Fifi). Oof. Looking especially rough this year on the aircraft side, unless you're a huge fan of training types...

Re: First State Airshow 2024

What is a CAPES demo? That’s what they have listed for the F-15Cs, but I’ve never heard of it before and can’t find any info on it. They originally had it listed as a "capabilities demonstration," so probably a short form of that, though I'm quite ignorant to DOD acronyms so that's just a...

Re: Frecce Tricolori North American Tour 2024

Most likely crew rest. They've put together a grueling schedule and that gap is around a week before they head back to Italy, where they have a sizeable number of shows remaining.

They've earned it.

Outstanding video work, thanks for sharing! Those trainer formations are something else.

Re: First State Airshow 2024

I love that they're flying the home team near the end; if the sun's out, that should offer some fine photo opportunities. Interesting that the USCG demo is Saturday only, which is fine, as that's the day I can go.

Also, thanks to Precision Exotics for providing a nice food/loo break for me!

Re: Quinte International Air Show 2024

For the sake of those who are still planning to attend, I do hope they fill that hour allotted to the "show opener" wisely. I binned my plans for this one, mostly because of the whole having to drive through the fourth largest city in North America the weekend of Canada Day bit, plus Appal...

Re: 2024 World War II Weekend

All part of the risk inherent in hosting a warbird-centric event. MAAM could've opened their pocketbooks and brought up an A-26 from Oklahoma or a Harpoon from the west coast, and the likelihood of either/both going tech would've been just the same.

Re: 2024 MCAS Cherry Point Air Show

I spent hundreds of dollars, drove a thousand miles, and waited in some of the worst air show traffic I’ve experienced only to be denied entry because my 60-600 lens was too long. Wow, what a punch below the belt. Sorry to hear about your experience. I wonder if this is going to become a running th...
