Re: EAA Air Venture Oshkosh 2021
I really wish some p-38s and p-47s would show. You rarely see them at Oshkosh and I don’t understand why. Pretty simple actually as most of the 38's and 47's are in the west or Texas. OSH doesn't pay owners to show up so there's no point in bringing those planes 1000+ miles without some sort of com...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
Per Michael Luther on WIX, PBJ-1J Mitchell "Semper Fi" from the CAF Southern California Wing is confirmed! Quite to be frank, but I'm somewhat puzzled a Mitchell from the West Coast will be joining TOM's Mitchell Gathering or so-called "Mitchell Madness", I never suspected 'Semp...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
I keep in touch with ML pretty regularly. This month has been focused on their B-25 transition. There are plenty of other B-25's in the works, just waiting on the New Year for some confirmations to line up. Also have to see how the the virus changes as that is holding back some discussions and conf...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
Michael Luther has been very quiet this month over on the WIX hanger. I guess maybe because of the holidays, but in the years past, he was active a lot in December. Maybe because he already made most of the announcements for the year in November but I am not very sure how that all works. I keep in ...

Re: National Championship Air Races 2021
Reno being my favorite event of the year, I've been involved here and there with this fundraising stuff. I chatted with CFO Tony Logoteta last week and there's a lot to get through, but the response has been very positive. RARA is looking for at least $300k by the end of the year to keep going forwa...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
Frankly, the world's only airworthy PBJ Mitchell (Naval varient of the B-25 'Mitchell') 'Semper Fi' is stationed here in Southern California (CAF SoCal), but indeed, it is operated and apart of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF), however with that said being stationed here on the West Coast, I would...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
This list is awesome sir thank you. I know ML has been looking for this exhaustive list. I'll pass it onto him!

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
I will also add that in terms of "records", this should be a Thunder record for B-25's and fingers crossed a record for airshow gatherings. I believe the post-war record for B-25's in one place at one time is 21, I'm not sure if they all flew together, and this wasn't considered an airshow...

Re: Thunder Over Michigan 2021
What airframes do you guys want to see present? There are a few special examples being talked to, really hoping they pan out! I would like to see Semper Fi and Guardian of Freedom make the trip. Guardian of Freedom was one of the first B-25s I saw as a kid, back when it was owned by Glenn LaMont. S...
