Houston, it appears that you're in for an awesome treat. The F-35A Demo Team will be on hand with the other Air Force demo teams.

I saw some video of the show.

It was a drive in show.

Looks like the jets were taking-off in front of the crowd. How was that done?

Were the parking spaces close to the runway?

Were you able to see the pilots get into the jets?

Did the Demo Teams set-up their tents to sell items?

Interesting set-up.

The drive-in show was...interesting. I was media so I did not have a parking spot. Premium payers got a spot right up at the fenceline and the entire ramp was utilized. You were restricted from leaving the area of your spot except to the restroom, where masks were required. Police and airshow personnel made sure no one wandered as it was the first mass gathering public event in Houston and closely watched.

There was a Warbird hot ramp to the extreme left and the jet hot ramp was to the extreme right. Maybe a few people saw them get in but not the vantage point we are used to. Warbird attendance was low due to the passing of Hurricane Delta on Friday.

No swag of any kind for sale due to Covid rules.

After the show, the spaces emptied out pretty fast and the ramp was very clean. I think many airshows in 2021 will adopt this format in order to host one.

So how did they handle media? Did you just get escorted to a box of your own or were you allowed to wander somewhat? Were you up front or somewhere else?

We were shuttled to a spot by golf carts. Our original spot was close to the Airboss trailer but set back behind parked cars. We were given another option to move to extreme airshow left with a spot at the fenceline. It turned out to be a great spot so most of us went back there on Sunday.
