For aviation enthusiasts, which upcoming airshows or fly-ins are you most excited about attending? Any recommendations for must-see events around the world?

Ive only ever really been to Sun n Fun for airshows but I 100% recommend it if you can. It is next month, April 9-14th. Supposed to be a big warbird presence, plenty of military and a bunch of civilian performers. Ive never been to Oshkosh but i am going for my first time this year, but anyone ive ever talked to says its a must do if you are into aviation.

Worldwide, I'd like to think the Royal International Air Tattoo fits that to a tee. It's on my bucket list - heck, much of Europe is on mine.

Since most people who comment here are from the US, I would think the two big fly-ins would be the answer to your question. I've seen both the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds so many times over the decades going back to the late F-4 days (my earliest memories of the teams were of them in the A-4 and T-38, respectively, but there's slides of myself as a kid with the teams' F-4s). Have to thank my father for dragging me everywhere and seeing a good chunk of the country in the process.

But... two places he didn't take me to were Sun 'n Fun and Oshkosh. My wife and I are going to Oshkosh this year. For both of us it'll be our first time there and our first time in Wisconsin. Sun 'n Fun was also a thought for this year but between purchasing a house and moving, combined with other things that have already happened this year and will be happening, it wasn't going to happen.

If you take those two out of the equation, it seems like there's two must-see airshows in California this year: Sacramento and Huntington Beach. NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach has a really nice military lineup this year and that has me coming back for the first time since 2017. There's a few others but those three stick out in my mind.

If we're talking anywhere in the world, I would highly recommend the Australian International Airshow. It is a biannual event so doesn't occur until 2025 unfortunately.
