New seating option SATURDAY ONLY. Front row seats at far crowd right in the red area on the map for $30. Solid option for those still considering.

Am I correct in interpreting that, based on the graphic provided, that the general public will have an obstructed view of the show line? I realize it was asked earlier but this graphic seems to reinforce that if you don't pay for a seat, you may miss on the low level and ground level stuff. I'm asking for my future self, since this has been on my radar for so long and I'd love to make the trek down for their next airshow.

I don't mind paying for upgraded seating so long as it means I don't have to bring my chair.

Can anyone help calm my nerves a bit on how the weather is looking for Saturday? Looking like some rain right now. How would that effect the show? Sorry if its a dumb question!

Never ever trust a weather forecast beyond 72 hours out. You expect the weather apps or the meteorologists to nail down a forecast a week out? Temperatures, maybe. Precipitation or no precipitation is a whole different story. That will change a hundred times.

Let's take rain out of the equation. You need a minimum cloud ceiling and visibility in order to have an airshow. I believe those minimums are 1,500 feet and three miles of visibility. If you have that (more ceiling is required for parachuting), you can safely have an airshow. If it's a spritz or drizzle to a very light rain, they may still fly so long as ceilings and visibility are still there. I cannot tell you how many times over the decades I've been to airshows that have had no flying because it's either raining (plus low ceilings and visibility), the clouds are too low or it's foggy, or it's very windy.

Saw the harrier do a practice demo this morning. The sequence opened with an additional high speed pass from behind the crowd. Not much, but at least it's a little more than a normal demo.

Convenient timing. Wonder if it will make an appearance.

Anyone know if the F-18 preforming in the MAGTF demo will be a legacy hornet? Also on the cherry point instagram they didn’t mention a AH-1Z or a UH-1Y helicopter preforming in the demo. Anyone know why this is? I thought those where staples in the demo! Either way cant wait to see the show!

Never been and am not going to this airshow
but traditionally MAGTF demos are always performed with legacy hornets, as thats all the Marines fly

Thats what I thought but the website is a bit confusing in a couple parts like on statics where the F-18 super hornet is a legacy in the picture so I was just wanting to make sure!

F-18 will certainly be a Legacy Hornet from MCAS Beaufort. They've been unclear about that in the past as well. The night time afterburner flyovers (really wish they would bring the night show back btw) were always done by Legacy Hornets, but they would often get called supers.

General rule with MAGTF is it's always a grab bag in terms of what you get. The H-1s typically stay far away from the crowd and don't offer much of a spectacle in my opinion. What's really interesting to me is the V-22s aren't listed either. Instead, they have a CH-53E and a CH-53K (first time?) bringing the Marines in. I'll be watching the practice tomorrow and will report what I see.

Blue Angels arrived this morning along with a few performers and statics. The weather looks fantastic for this weekend, nice and cool, too. Sunday should be a great last show for the Harrier and Hubie.
