As I know of a couple of Leszno first-timers who follow this thread but who are not forum members, here is some information which may be useful about getting to the airshow. This is changing a lot this year, so don't rely on information/advice from previous shows.

Parking
The advice of the organisers is to avoid driving to the airshow if at all possible. Szybownik Street (the main road past the airfield connecting the town to the motorway) will be closed. There is no on-site parking at all this year except for 40 Blue Badge spaces, which have all been reserved already.

VIPs and Spotters can use the VIP car park, 1km to the east on Szybownik Street. You must approach from the east (the direction of the town centre) due to road closures near the airport. Then, walk the last km to the airshow.

All others can park in temporary car parks P1 (south) and P2 (north), which are both about 3km away from the airfield. Parking is not included in the airshow ticket, and must be purchased seperately. Once parked, there are regular buses to the airshow itself. Walking is possible, but as these are narrow country lanes with no pavement, I wouldn't advise it.

Free airshow trains - and other train alternatives
For the first time, the airshow will operate free trains exclusively for airshow ticket holders. Just show your airshow ticket to the conductor on the train.

The southerly train will leave Wrocław at 11:15, with stops in Wrocław Mikołajów, Wrocław Popowice, Wrocław Różanka, Wrocław Osobowice, Wrocław, Świniary, Szewce, Pęgów, Oborniki Śląskie, Osola, Skokowa, Żmigród, Garbce, Korzeńsko and Rawicz, arriving into Leszno at 12:30. The return journey will leave Leszno at 00:40, stopping at the same stations, and returning to Wrocław at 01:53.

The northerly train will leave Poznań at 14:59. It will stop in Poznań Dębiec, Luboń, Mosina, Czempiń and Kościan, arriving into Leszno at 15:16. The return journey leaves Leszno at 00:15 and arrives in Poznań at 01:03. Beware that the outbound train arrives in Leszno at almost exactly the same time that the flying display will start, so by the time you get to the airfield, the airshow will be well underway. I suggest avoiding the outbound free train, and instead using a regular train earlier in the day, arriving into Leszno at 12:00-14:00.

Regular non-airshow trains connect Poznań, Leszno and Wrocław every half hour or so and the trip typically only costs Є5 or thereabouts. If you are going to catch a regular non-airshow train, I suggest making sure you are on a PKP Intercity service rather than a local commuter train. These offer the advantage of faster journey times, seat reservations and, in some cases, a very reasonably-priced dining car (look for the cutlery symbol on the timetable/website) - all for a negligable price difference compared to the local commuter trains. Make sure to use a red PKP ticket machine if buying a ticket at the station, as the ticket machines owned by the local commuter companies may not show the fast intercity trains.

I can personally vouch for the Polish rail network as being an excellent, reliable and cost-effective way to get around, with simple ticketing and reasonably good wayfinding. Ticket machines work in various languages, and key signage at major stations is duplicated in English.

As you use Leszno station, do keep an eye out for its glider gate guardian. Leszno has held the World Gliding Championships a record-breaking 4 times, and the city is really proud of its gliding heritage.

Free city bus and getting around town
There are two free bus routes for the airshow.

The first will connect Leszno railway station to the airfield, non-stop, running every 20 minutes. The second will run between the airfield in the far west of the town to Targowisko Holenderska in the east, with various intermediate stops. It will run from midday to midnight on both show days, with a frequency of 30-45 minutes.

There are plenty of rental e-scooters in Leszno, which are a really handy way to get around town, or alternatively, the walk from the airfield to the station/town centre is about 3-4km, depending on exactly where you are going. There are brand new, segregated foot and cycle paths for almost the entire route.
