Thunder of Niagara Airshow 2018
I watched the show this year from Porter Road on Friday and Sunday, and it worked out pretty good except for missing the amazing flying of the Corsair and the Mustang. The lighting is usually better from Porter Road, although there was more and more haze and grey on Sunday as the day progressed. Friday was interesting in that the Thunderbirds had an extra F-16, with a drop tank. This was a two seat ship and may have been doing photo work.

Doesn't happen often but the winds favored runway 10L today making for some great opportunities on Walmore Road to catch departures. In just about an hour both KC-10's, C-130H, F-15E, Vermont F-16's, the C-5 and the B-52 all departed.

Ernest,
The KC-135 at the end with the 2 A-10's was that late Friday say around 6:30-7:00 or so?We were in Cheektowaga going out to supper and saw a tanker in the distance with 2 other planes. That would make sense what we saw.

Yes, that was what you saw. Just to correct it was a USAF KC-10 with 2x A-10 Hogs. We saw the KC-10 coming from far near West Virginia at 25,000ft which indicated a drag and hoped for something good. We got that confirmed to us by a Navy MH-60 that was landing forty minutes before they showed up who asked ground if the KC-10 dragging two A-10's had landed yet. So it was around that time, yes, that you saw them. They circled around Buffalo for a bit before coming into Niagara with an overhead break.
Cheers,
Ernest G.

Does anyone have photos of the Ospreys? I have a friend who knows one of the pilots who flew the demo and would love to pass your photos along.
