Apparently, Thunderbrid 3 was struck in the canopy by a bird before the Air Force Graduation flyover and performance, so the team performed in a 5 ship formation. Reminder that in 2016, Thunderbird 6 ended up in a field after a throttle issue killed the engine on final approach. Capt. Brewer has since returned the jet to Nellis AFB. It doesn't look like this will impact the team's schedule. Next show is in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

I was at the Academy when it happened. I saw them circling waiting to perform once Trump had left the Academy, then #3 quickly broke off of the formation and flew off back to Peterson AFB.
