I expect that number to rise the closer it gets to the flyover. The Arsenal of Democracy, Washington D.C. flyover will take place on Friday, September 25, and include over 60 aircraft from across the U.S. and Canada that will fly down the Potomac River across the National Mall in a historic sequence representing the significant battles of World War II.

Does anyone know where the planes will be taking off from ? Is there a good place to watch from other than the mall ? Thanks.

I assume they will be taking off from Manassas Airport similar to the 4th of July celebrations?
In the past Arsenal of Democracy Flyovers, however, I believe some of the aircraft flew from Culpeper Airport.

I *believe* the aircraft will be split between those two. Not sure what will be where

When this was first announced, the "heavies" were supposed to stage from Manassas and everything else from Culpeper. Not sure if that's still the plan.

While the rest of the website seems to have been updated, the participating aircraft section still lists May 8. I believe the CAF heavies are done for the year and there will probably be no Canadian participation (Lanc, Hurri). Hope to see an updated list soon as it still may be worth the trip followed by the 14 day quarantine on return.

I saw this list going around the other day, but it was dated March 17, before the dates were shifted. I would be really surprised if this many were still planning to attend and at least one is clearly inaccurate; the C-54 (no longer flyable).FlyRed wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 7:53 pm Updated aircraft list:

That said, if it turns out to be even mostly true it is a mind blowing gathering of warbirds and I will certainly have to consider going if I can make it there

Yeah, I don't think the Dakota Territory Air Museum Hurricane has flown yet either and the Rod Lewis Mosquito has been sold to a private owner in California. I'm sure it will still be a great collection of warbirds. There are a few making tour stops in Indiana on the way back home that I'm hoping to catch.RyanS wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 10:28 pmI saw this list going around the other day, but it was dated March 17, before the dates were shifted.
