Red Flags in 2022
The aircraft type coming from Luke is F-16, not F-35.

The link I posted from the Scramble Message Boards has corrected the info.
F-16s from the 425th. Just a minor error by them. I won't pass judgement.

Finished a couple days at the world's smallest flag. Always great to be at Nellis and with good friends but photography was challenging due to limited participants and weather.
B-1s did not fly Monday or Wednesday.
Shaw Vipers are in town but not part of flag.
There is a little bit of colour from 2 Singaporeans and a Growler.
Good luck to everybody next week. Sounds like it's going to be busy. And stick around after the recoveries as Weapons School has been launching a lot of jets around 5pm.

LOL of course when I finally go it's the smallest one ever. God damnit. Oh well, wheels up tonight and even if the spotting is no good I've got some national parks in the plans as well!

You'll enjoy it Ryan. There's also the added bonus of the large weapons school launch at Golden hour after the flag.
Thank you

Red Flag 22-2 was pretty cool. Certainly the best opportunity I've had to see loaded up jets!
I was out there Friday afternoon, Monday and Tuesday all day, and Wednesday through the RF launch. The B-1s made it pretty frustrating because they only flew half the time so I would sit and wait and then nothing. The only time they took off during the day was when I had given up and gone to the other end - of course! Thankfully I learned the callsigns pretty quick and I was able to get them at night on Tuesday, although the photo isn't quite what I wanted. I also really wanted a photo of the chrome Raptor but I got it on video the first couple times then the day I was ready for photos it never even took off. Ugh.
I see why so many people like it. Even setting the spotting aside, Vegas is never a bad place to hang out and it's a great way to get out in the winter months. I fully expect to be back in the future!
