Cocoa Beach Air Show 2023

Even though I messed up my knee playing hockey the other night, I'm going to hobble up to Cocoa Beach on Friday to try to catch the practice. Since I'm cheap, I know where I can legally park for free and will walk/hobble closer to show center. How far I get will depend on how my knee feels.

I'll be there with my son on Saturday. Hopefully, the rain stays away tomorrow until after any practice flying.

Knee was hurting, but made it to the beach. Saw a partial Thunderbirds practice, Growlers & Legacy Flight, A-10, and C-17. Here's one pic for now from the A-10 with flares.

Anyone have any insider on why the slot pilot, Thunderbird #4 broke off and landed after the Line Break Loop?

Nope, no clue. Also, we bailed due to a family obligation right after the 2nd sneak pass by the Tbirds.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of beach shows. I like seeing the planes taxi, takeoff and land. In any case, we had a great time at Cocoa Beach today. The Growlers put on a fantastic show, and it's quickly becoming a favorite of mine. A-10 with a crapload of flares (not-pictured, yet) Still have more pics to look through, but here are a few from today.

I've never seen flares deployed at an airshow, so seeing the A-10 Demo Team dropping lots of flares throughout the performance was really cool. So, here are a few of my shots. Unfortunately, I missed getting anything good during the final pass with mass flares. :cry:
