Headed up to McGuire for the Sunday show after doing Wings over Wayne on Saturday. Good to see the heavies, especially the KC-10 as that mission winds down. F-16 demo with the flares was cool, not quite as exciting to photograph as the Raptor demo flare display, but good to get to see nonetheless. Kind of a relaxed feel to the day and show.

Fourth and final show during my quick stint in the US. Arrived just after 9 at the McGuire Gate, no problem really getting parked, it took an age to get through security though. Nice statics, special NJ ANG KC-135 was really nice. Flying was great, nice to see a KC-10 flying, more so since they're dying out (usually only see them on the ground at Mildenhall) and liked the CH-53E lifting the Humvee, they didn't even do that in a couple of MAGTF demos at Miramar in the end. Not for the first time this trip the highlight was a Massachusetts F-15, what a display that was, the pilot was really wringing that things neck, and that entrance from behind the crowd... wow, first time I've seen a solo F-15C demo and possibly the best solo jet demo I've ever seen (I do love an F-15). Stayed until the end after the Viper landed, worst ever experience of getting out of a show, what a total farce. From the time I got back to the car until I got out of the base was almost two hours, and with what ended up being a more than 5 hour drive back to where I was staying, I was less than happy to say the least. it kind of detracted from what was a decent show as I so was pissed off with not even moving for an hour and half. In the end I'm glad I did McGuire, but they need to sort out the getting out of the place, it would put me off going again. All said and done it was successful trip over and I enjoyed all four shows I attended.
