Today's action! A minor dust swarm killed the visibility towards the end and there were a few cancellations - most notably, the Tejas, which I still haven't seen.

I thought at the time of writing these tweets that today would be my last day at the show. However, I've kindly been given an extra day off tomorrow so I can go back and hopefully see the Tejas.

My last Dubai Airshow post for now, but I think this is worth sharing. If anyone is planning on going to the Dubai Airshow in future, it is well worth forking out $99 for the five-day trade pass. The airshow takes a rather liberal approach to crowdline and static display fencing, and the crowds in the main showground are light.

There is a free public grandstand called Skyview, but this I think is a false economy because it is quite busy and is located at the furthest point on the showground from show centre. Also, Skyview visitors do not get access to the static display or air-conditioned exhibition hall. Get a trade pass and treat it like a spotter pack.

These images show just how close trade visitors can get to the static aircraft, and how light the crowds are (photo taken of the crowdline at show centre, mid-show on the Friday).

2023 saw possibly the biggest Dubai Airshow to date reflecting the resurgence of the aerospace industry since the lows of the pandemic. Commercial and Business aviation continues to rebound while the new area of eVTOL and Urban mobility is starting to grow rapidly with ever more futuristic projects. However, conflict and the global instability was another reason Dubai was just so important to industry in 2023 with many countries starting to rethink their Defence capabilities for new and emerging threats. A full image gallery and review can be found HERE.

Now a look at the flying displays and flypasts:
