It is expected that the FAA will soon send out an emergency AD effectively grounding all B-17s due to spar issues. There is no easy fix and they'll likely be grounded for the foreseeable future. https://www.aerovintage.com/2023/04/15/ ... rthcoming/

Major Disappointment:

Air Adventures <[email protected] Sat, Apr 15 at 8:17 AM

Hello,

The Yankee Air Museum decided to proactively cease flight operations of the Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress Yankee Lady. Recent inspections of other B-17Gs have discovered wing spar issues. As a result we expect a mandatory Airworthiness Directive to be issued by the FAA in the next few weeks regarding the matter. Out of an abundance of caution, we are temporarily ceasing our B-17G flight operations and awaiting direction from the FAA regarding necessary inspections and repairs that will be required. It is expected that the B-17G will not fly during the 2023 flying season. Please note that this only affects the B-17.

All other aircraft flight operations are not affected. --What does this mean for your B-17 Air Adventure? This means that we will not be able to fly you on the B-17 this year and are thus fully refunding your order. These refunds will be processed over the next few weeks. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we get through the refunds. Can I fly on other Yankee Air Museum aircraft? Yes! The B-25 Rosie's Reply, C-47 Hairless Joe and Huey Helicopter are still flying this year. If you are interested in flying on these amazing aircraft, please check out our website for more information: https://yankeeairmuseum.org/fly/

Nice additions! Looking forward to seeing Tim's P-40. I don't think I've seen that one yet. Always nice to see part of the Tri-State fleet, too.

Weather forecast is actually looking good! Friday morning may see some rain but it should clear up by the time the airport opens up and the flying begins.

It'll be a warm one on Friday and a bit cooler on Saturday once the front passes. Looking at 78 on Friday with rain giving way to partly cloudy skies and then sunny and 72 on Saturday.

Lets hope the forecast just continues to improve and we have terrific weather for the two days :).

Alright, a few final aircraft to add. The fun part about this event is that we have a good idea of a few other birds that "might" show up that are just total surprises. Then we have some that are actual total surprises as well. Ya never know what you might see.

-Tim & Job Savage T-6 Texan (though this may turn into a PT-26. This is to be determined)
-STARSHIP L-29 LLC's Aero Vodochody L-29 Delfin

And another TBM
-Steve Sorge's TBM-3 Avenger
