EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — (January 31, 2024) — The Frecce Tricolori, the military aerobatic team representing the Italian Air Force (ITAF), will be making its first Oshkosh appearance since 1986 when it arrives to participate at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024. The 71st edition of the Experimental Aircraft Association fly-in convention is July 22-28 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.

Frecce Tricolori – which translates to “Tricolor Arrows” in English – will arrive at Oshkosh on Tuesday, July 23, and is scheduled to participate as part of the afternoon air show. Its aerial demonstrations at AirVenture will be a modified display featuring tight fly-by formations and colorful smoke trails in the team’s Aermacchi MB-339PAN trainer jets.
This sounds like a brief non-aerobatic display to me. Not least because the press release says they will arrive and display on the Tuesday. I've never known the Frecce Tricolori forgo a recce and practice the day prior to an actual aerobatic performance.
My assumption is that since this is during the work week and that a full aerobatic box would require the evacuation of the factories just east of 18/36, EAA won't press their luck and ask them to shut down those afternoons as well since they are already asking them to shutdown during the weekend to allow the Snowbirds to perform their full show. Plus the press release mentions this:
Its aerial demonstrations at AirVenture will be a modified display featuring tight fly-by formations and colorful smoke trails in the team’s Aermacchi MB-339PAN trainer jets.
So coupling that with an earlier military jet related press release this seems to be how the week is shaping up:

First Half of the Week
Frecce Tricolori (Tues - ?)
F-22 Demo Team (Mon - Thurs)
Polaris Demo Team (Mon-Wed)

Second Half of the Week
Canadian Snowbirds (Fri - Sun)
F-35B Demo Team
F-16 Demo Team (Mon - Sun potentially)

Quite a year so far!

Yes, the Snowbirds crowd line will be on effect. That means nobody can cross that line and I mean nobody that includes planes parked in that area. Here's the 2016 aerobatic box diagram.

https://www.eaa.org/en/airventure/eaa-a ... july-29-31
That would be if they were doing aerobatics and I don't think they are
Why would they not do aerobatics, they will be pushing the show line back for sure.
Because they are probably doing everything possible to avoid the crowd line getting pushed back

How do I convince my parents to let me go to Oshkosh? I love aviation and airshows/airshow photography and would love to go. My grandma loves to go to airshows too, so i hope I can go with her. I live in texas and would need to get a flight there. My birthday is earlier in July, so maybe i can ask to go to Oshkosh for my birthday present, I also have a bit of money saved up that could pay for a flight there and back, but not quite sure how much tickets, hotels, rental cars, and other expenses, like food and drinks at the show would be. My parents are great, and I'm sure i can convince them one way or another.

You sound like a teenager and I hate to burst your bubble, but you'd need to really think about this, especially if you want to fly there. There's going to be certain things you need and you won't be able to get, especially a rental car, if you don't have someone over 25 traveling with you.

Once again, a disclaimer that I've never been to Oshkosh, but that should change this year. I've been texting back and forth since the beginning of January with a friend who has gone twice, flew once and drove the second time, and he gave me a list of recommendations, which I'll share:

GETTING THERE: If you must fly there, fly into Milwaukee. Plan B would be Green Bay. Otherwise, Chicago. Rental car availability in Wisconsin might be tough to get within three months of Oshkosh. It might be easier in Chicago or even Minneapolis, but that's a bit of a drive. Even if you can get a car in Wisconsin I'm sure the rates will be astronomical. Driving there might be more practical and cost-effective, even with an overnight stay or two.

WHERE TO STAY: You mention hotels. There's options in/around Oshkosh and I'm sure they're all booked up right now. Same with anyone renting out their homes and/or the nearby college dorms. If you luck out and find a vacancy within an hour of Oshkosh, it'll probably be way up there in price and you may be forced to pay for more days than you plan to be there. There's also the option of camping on the Oshkosh grounds; that's far cheaper, but you have to be an EAA member to do so, or at least one person in your party needs to be a member. In my research, it sounds like all your creature comforts are taken care of in the campground (showers, running water, toilets, water fountains, charging stations, even laundry). Tent or bring your own camper/trailer.

FOOD/DRINKS: How much? If it was just me, and I love my food, I'd be budgeting $50 for food and drinks each day per person. Maybe a little less if you don't buy sodas or bottled water and bring your own and refill. From what I've been told, I'm under the impression there's plenty of potable water stations and even some water bottle filling stations in the exhibit areas.

WHAT ELSE?: There's a lot of other attractions in Wisconsin and of course if you're baseball fans you could see if you could catch a Brewers game. Milwaukee is also having an airshow the Sat/Sun that Oshkosh falls on, so you could bail out of Oshkosh on Sunday and drive down to Milwaukee for that airshow. With the Frecce Tricolori making a rare North American tour and performing in Milwaukee that weekend, I'd strongly suggest seeing them perform at least once. I've seen the Red Arrows, the Patrouille de France, the Blue Impulse, the Brazilian Smoke Squadron, and of course the Frecce Tricolori and the Frecce Tricolori's displays are nothing short of fantastic.

For my first-timer's trip, I'm budgeting $3,500 between travel, tickets, accommodations, food, and impulse expenses - and I won't even be there the entire week!

@benb8078 - As @passedgas46 mentions, it's a lot to consider. I have flown from NC the last couple of time, and highly suggest you fly into O'Hare. The tickets will be more reasonable and a better chance of getting a rental car. It's only about a 2.5 hour drive to Oshkosh and once you get out of Illinois, you get to see a lot of the beautiful Wisconsin scenery. There are plenty of places to stop and grab anything you need that you couldn't fly with.

I would ask around your area and see if anyone else is going. Maybe you can carpool or caravan. Someone maybe camping too. Camping is probably the second best part of Oshkosh, it's always a adventure.

Thanks. I'm grateful to have a friend who's willing to give his first- and second-timers experience.

I haven't camped since I was a teenager, and I'm looking forward to experience the Oshkosh camping adventure. Besides being the least expensive option, it sure sounds like the most convenient option.

Last time this company appeared at Oshkosh is 2018 it was a complete disaster (I was in the pyro field and the drones kept falling right out of the sky on top of me because they lost signal) Hope they figured out all the kinks. 100,000+ cell phones and drone wifi don't tend to mix well.

Actually, the drone company put on a good show considering the glitches. I remember and still have pics of some of their "organized" formations.
