Navy TAC Demo 2019 Status
Has anyone heard any news regarding the status of the Navy TAC Demos for next year? I heard the Navy Forum happened today.

I have not heard anything coming from the forum (and before 8 thousand people message me, I DO NOT HAVE A SCHEDULE lol) but obviously last year was a pretty extreme drawback from 'normal' airshow support. Comments I heard last year indicated that this year might even be more extreme, to the point of potentially no Hornet demos. I know they're trying, but the fleet is chewed up and training has to come first. I would not advise anyone to get their hopes up for seeing a Hornet demo in 2019.
That said, it's all rumor and hearsay at this point.

Last September I caught 2 F-18s from VFA 122 doing the Broncos flyover. I talked to them about the TACDEMO and one of the guys said he had applied to be a demo pilot. He also told me that 2019's demo season should be back to normal once this year was over.

Per the US Navy Forum, up to 30 shows may be supported next year between East & West. Will not perform at same shows as the Blue Angels.
Here's hoping it all works out. Shows should be getting notified closer to February.

Please take this with a grain of salt. I hope it’s 30 shows but that was said last year with I believe the number being 40. Then it ended up being like 8 or 9 shows.

There was tailhook legacy flight booth at least. So that’s some hope.

This is important to note! Because those were numbers thrown out last year. The way they worded it this year used "up to 30 may be supported" (the words "may" and "up to" being the key words). So, note that if resources aren't available, there will be less shows again.Airplanefreak2000 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 06, 2018 12:12 am Please take this with a grain of salt.
