Happy birthday to the North American XB-70 Valkyrie, which took its first flight #OTD in 1964. The Mach 3, high altitude strategic bomber was designed to fly higher and faster than Soviet air-to-air missiles, but missile development outpaced bomber development, and the Valkyrie was never put into production. Two prototypes were built. One was lost in an accident in 1966, do you know what happened to the other?
