The ACC posted their 2019 Demo Team and Heritage Flight Support Manual and it mentions that this year they will be adding the F-5 to the Heritage Flight program! Pretty cool addition and another jet warbird added to go along with the F-86.
Also a side note, the F-22 and F-35 are approved for pyro at airshows.
Here is a link to the support manual:

Innnnnnnteresting.
So does the USAF even have F-5s any more?
I know the Marines and Navy do.
Would it have to be a civilian F-5 then?

A little bit of my commentary on it:

This will be a civvy F-5, the Navy and Marines still use them as aggressors but obviously they wouldn't fly in this. The F-5 seems like a kind of random choice compared to the other iconic aircraft that fly in HFs, but it's pretty much a cheaper option to represent the Vietnam/cold war era. The Collings F-4 and the F-100s could be included but the cost and logistics of those is surely prohibitive.
I'm really excited for this, even though it will probably stay close to a specific region (and I'm guess the West) so I will rarely if ever see it. It's great that they're expanding the program even just a little bit!

Dont qoute me on this lol, but it sounds like heritage flights might not exist anymore--- something about shows are now required to carry insurance for the warbirds.
