The pinnacle of US air power was on display over South Carolina yesterday, as the US Navy Blue Angels joined a US Air Force F-22 Raptor stealth fighter for a formation photo flight over Beaufort, SC. The Blue Angels’ Public Affairs office published these amazing shots taken from the photo ship, which appears to be a C-130 Hercules with the rear ramp down. This is not a view you see very often!

Update: More photos have been added from the F-22 Demonstration Team!

The photo shoot was flown to promote the airshow at MCAS Beaufort, which takes place this weekend. Both the Blue Angels and F-22 demonstration team will perform. You can read more about the show in our forums, and see where the teams will be performing this year on our airshow calendar.

The Blue Angels perform these photo missions from time to time; in 2017 we filmed the #5 and #6 solo pilots flying off the wings of civilian aerobatic pilots as well as the B-29 Superfortress “Doc” at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI.
