Every year, the Canadian Forces CF-18 Hornet demonstration aircraft features a new and unique paint scheme with a special meaning behind it. The colorful and symbolic designs are an immensely pleasant departure from the typical shades of gray, and airshow fans look forward to the new scheme being unveiled before each season. This year the RCAF announced that it would be honoring the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain as the theme for the year, and recently a team led by veteran design director Jim Belliveau rolled out the fully painted aircraft in a ceremony at CFB Bagotville in Quebec. The results are, as we have come to expect, amazing. Take a look at the beautiful two tone camouflage scheme in the photos below and note some of the intricate details, especially on the vertical stabilizers. We look forward to posting some shots of our own later in the year.

If you’d like to see this masterpiece in person, you can head to one of the shows on the 2015 CF-18 Hornet demo team schedule!
