US Navy Blue Angels Super Bowl 50 Flyover

The US Navy Blue Angels will provide the national anthem flyover at the beginning of Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco. The team has teased the appearance recently but uploaded the above image to their Facebook page tonight in an apparent confirmation of the rumor. It will not be a tremendously long trip for the Blues as they are currently in California for their winter training at NAF El Centro rather than their home base of NAS Pensacola in Florida. The game, featuring the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers, will take place at Levi’s Stadium on February 7th. Last year’s Super Bowl featured a flyover by the USAF Thunderbirds.

Make sure you tune in for the pregame festivities!

Airshow fans! Tune into NBC Sunday at 6pm to see the USAF Thunderbirds flyover the Super Bowl! Six red, white, and blue F-16 Fighting Falcons from the USAF’s aerial demonstration squadron will flyover around 6pm Eastern time at the end of the National Anthem to showcase the pride and professionalism of the United States Air Force. Following the Super Bowl flyover, the Thunderbirds will perform 71 demonstrations at 39 locations this season. 2015 is the team’s 62nd season.

The Thunderbirds won’t be the only aerial assets in the air during the Super Bowl.
